Best Spritz – Buena Vista Bar
Gallipoli offers endless stunning spots for aperitivo, but Buena Vista Bar takes the crown. Think generously poured Aperol spritzes with the perfect mix, served alongside mouthwatering aperitivo snacks—olives, crisps, and the local taralli. Top it off with an unbeatable view of crystal-clear waters gently lapping before you. There’s no better setting for a perfect spritz.

Best Seafood Restaurant – Lampara Lab
Seafood lovers, this is your heaven! Lampara Lab is a must-visit. Hidden in the charming old town laneways, this modern restaurant adds a spin to the famous fish market La Lampara and combines Gallipoli’s seafood traditions into a unique dining experience. Select your catch of the day straight from the fish counter and taste the ocean from the most amazing crudo platters. With its magical ambiance and fresh from the boat flavours, this spot is unforgettable.

Best Local Bar – La Putea Experience
For a taste of local Gallipoli nightlife, head to La Putea Experience. Located in the new town, this buzzing bar guarantees good vibes every night. Drinks are affordable, strong, and served with a smile by the friendly staff. Join the crowds spilling onto the street and enjoy the lively atmosphere into the early hours of the morning.

Best Café/Gelato – Martinucci – Cheesecake Gelato
When in Gallipoli, indulge at Martinucci. This gem has the most amazing selection of gelato flavours (including the cheesecake gelato – this is incredible), mouthwatering sweet and savoury pastries and my local favourite Rustico Leccesse. Whether in the bustling old town or the more local new town location, it’s a dessert haven you’ll want to revisit. Whatever you order here, you won’t leave disappointed.

Must-Do – Sail the Turquoise Waters
If you only do one thing in Gallipoli, make it a boat trip. Sail along the glistening turquoise waters, lie back and enjoy the Mediterranean sun, and enjoy the peaceful of being out on the ocean. Highlights include sailing past the lighthouse, taking in breathtaking views of Gallipoli’s coastline, and snorkelling in the beautiful clear sea (just watchout for jellyfish!).
We highly recommend Sailor Fly for an unforgettable adventure—our skipper, Vito, made it extra special, he even let us try steering the boat!

Must-Try – Rustico Leccese & Crudo Prawns
You can’t leave Gallipoli without sampling Rustico Leccese. This piping hot pastry, filled with gooey cheese, tomato, and béchamel, is pure bliss. The best place to discover it? Martinucci.
And don’t miss the crudo prawns, a regional delicacy that captures the freshness of the sea. If you’re visiting during the right season (September – May), be sure to try ricci di mare (sea urchins) the delicacy is so much part of the Puglia & Gallipoli experience, they have a large Sea Urchin statue in front of the castle, right by the entrance to the old town.

Gallipoli offers a unique blend of charm, culinary delights, and beautiful beaches making it a perfect destination for your next getaway.
